Custom Colorado Decks.
Composite, hardwood, and covered — custom decks engineered for altitude, built around how Denver homes actually live.
Your local deck builder
The deck builder Front Range homeowners call first.
Haka Decks is a licensed deck builder based in the Denver Tech Center — custom deck and patio design, pergola builders, and covered outdoor living for homeowners anywhere along the Front Range — Fort Collins down to Colorado Springs — plus the foothills and mountain towns west of Denver. Since 2017we've designed and built backyard decks and outdoor spaces in Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills Village, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, and the surrounding Denver suburbs.
Decks here have to survive 300-plus days of high-altitude sun, summer hail, and a freeze-thaw cycle that tears apart anything built to flatland standards. As a dedicated deck company — deck contractors and installers who do this and nothing else, not a general construction outfit that builds decks on the side — every structure we engineer is permitted, code-compliant, and built for Colorado's climate from the footings up.
Whether you want a low-maintenance composite deck, a cedar or hardwood build, a pergola or patio roof, roof decking over an exposed slab, an outdoor kitchen, or new deck and stair railings, we handle the design, HOA and permit paperwork, and the build end to end. Recycled-core composite boards make for genuinely eco-friendly decks that shrug off Denver sun without a drop of stain. Most projects start with a free on-site walkthrough, anywhere in the service area.

Questions
The questions most homeowners ask first.
What materials do you use?
We build almost exclusively with composite decking — Deckorators is our go-to brand, with Trex and TimberTech where the design calls for it. Composite holds up to Colorado's freeze-thaw, hail, and altitude UV in a way natural wood just doesn't, and the manufacturer warranties run 25–50 years. We'll also build in clear-grade cedar or thermally-modified hardwood when that's the look you want — we just want you to know what you're signing up for on maintenance.
How long does a deck project take?
Most residential decks take 3–10 days of on-site build time once we break ground. Permit and HOA approvals usually run 2–4 weeks before that, and we'll order materials during the wait so we hit the ground running. Bigger builds — covered decks, pergola integrations, multi-tier — run 2–4 weeks on site. We'll give you a realistic schedule in writing before you sign anything.
How much does a new deck cost?
It depends on size, materials, and features — but a typical 300–400 sq ft composite deck in the Denver area runs $15,000–$30,000 fully installed, with stairs, railing, and permits included. Pergolas and covered structures, outdoor kitchens, multi-level designs, and structural foundations all move the number. Our free deck cost calculator gives you a planning range in thirty seconds, and we give itemized estimates so you can see exactly where the budget goes.
Will a deck increase my home's value?
Yes — according to Remodeling Magazine's annual Cost vs. Value report, a composite deck addition recoups roughly 80% of its cost at resale, and outperforms most kitchen and bath remodels on a dollar-for-dollar basis. In the Denver area specifically, listings with finished outdoor living spaces consistently move faster than comps without.
